The largest species in the breve species group. Forebody and elytra black, microsculpture strong, not metallic. Elytra widest at middle. Pronotum sinuate laterally and notably narrow relative to elytral width. Legs and antennae black, long and slender. Male genitalia very distinctive in long sinuate shape of dorsal spines, outer shape has the appearance of being bent basally. Most readily confused with B. laxatum from which it is distinguished with the narrower and laterally sinuate pronotum, long slender legs and antennae, as well as opaque black coloration.
